Unit 3

 For the Masthead I have changed it from my original idea to a more simplistic idea. By this I have chose the  Franklin Gothic Demi Cond Font and made it smooth and the font large so that it is easy to read. I chose a white font as it stand out on the background which is quite dark this is so the writing stands out and will catch the audiences eye. I haven't fully decided whether I'm going to leave it plain white or ad something to the letter S to make it more of an eye catch.

Photoshoot plans:  As my magazine is a photography magazine it will include a wide range of images. I will have photos from prom, so to take these I will position people as they come into the building and position them at the front to get some portraits, I will also capture the moments when they aren't posed the natural photos of them enjoying themselves. I will not only take photos of the students at the prom but also the details on the tables, the ribbons on the chairs to show the details that make up the prom setting. This also includes getting photos of the place it all takes place. To take the portraits I will use the Cannon EOS R5 and for the shots of the whole group and the building I will use a drone to capture the photos.  Marketing and distribution: There are many different ways that you can market this magazine, such as using social media the advertise to magazine and you can have a link to the site where you can purchase from. You can also have a partnership with a photography school or organization and they can promote the magazine and even have it to sell. Next, you could have print ads located in shop windows for example. Lastly, you could synergize with another company such as cannon. Target audience: The magazine will be generally aimed at adults who are passionate about photography but also those younger generations of people who inspire to become a great photographer and might find it as a hobbies they might enjoy.    Proposal I need to propose an idea for a media product.  I have chosen to make a magazine about photography as this is my passion and I can share my own knowledge about camera settings to the target audience.  I will make a cover, contents and double page spread as part of this project.  In this document I will explain my ideas and research into the conventions of magazines, marketplace and content. Sample materials For my photography magazine I have decided to keep it simple as I believe that it gives it a more modern appealing look to the target audience as they are not looking for a leisurely magazine that would typically be cluttered with gossip, they are looking for a specific topic that could help them. As photography is a niche subject I want to make it seem professional and smart so instead of having a cluttered front page. I intend to keep it minimal and simple. I also believe that will help it stand out as it will be one of the few that are minimal, so as it has less imagery and graphics on the front it will stand out from the rest. As I am keeping my magazine minimal for the front page, I will have the main image across the whole page, with the masthead at the top.
